RE: Should Alcohol Be Banned? Nov 7, 2009 (5:11 AM)
I agree with Rhonda about drunk driving laws. However, in Canada, that age you can purchase alcohol is 19, in US it's 21, I think? I don't know, but would 2 years really make a difference?

They do for a few reasons: You're maturing as a person and most 18 year olds can handle it, even younger. I'm 17 and I can. I've drank sence I was 14. [Doesn't make it right, just saying]. Not to mention the ammount of underagers that can control themselves but get caught with it. I don't see why lowering it 3 years would be bad.

Yeah, most 18 year old should be able to handle it. Unfortunately, some can't. I only started drinking when I was like, 17ish, didn't really care much about alcohol. Still don't really, I only drink once in a while now. But also linking the age of 18, with the age of being able to drink. They seem pretty close, so do you think there would be more of a risk factor for drunk driving?

[Ha, I don't drink often either. It's seriously once in a blue moon at an event]
That's why I added the drunk driving laws because I am worried that would be more of a risk. Because as much as I know my friends can handle drinking and are mature about it there are those teens that just don't care. The ones that will get in their car after consuming a good ammount and claim to be fine =\
