WELL........THEY'RE ONLY IN INDIA, RIGHT?
No, they are all over the world. My friend Khalid [Who's gay and won't admit it to his family] is Arabian. He has to marry some girl because his fathers making him.
I don't think it's right... but I mean your religion your life. Not to mention sometimes people in those situations DO fall in love.

Arranged marriages do have benefits, though. I suppose I would rather choose my wife than have her forced upon me, but I suppose if someone can't find a spouse otherwise, they would for sure at least be able to have a family/house/spouse, etc. However, I would focus more on the negatives, like not being able to choose, what if you absolutely hate them, you can't divorce, etc.
I wonder if anyone who had an arranged marriage has ever murdered their spouse? I'm sur eit's probably happened. Would be interesting.

In an astonishing clash of cultures, in the small town of Jonesboro, Pakistani-born Chaudhry Rashid stands accused of strangling his 25-year-old daughter, Sandeela Kanwal, reportedly because she fled her arranged marriage.

And this interesting fact:
Statistics place the divorce rate for arranged marriages much lower than those in the United States, where marriages out of love are the rule. However, research also shows that the pressure a married couple encounters from both society as a whole, and from the respective families, suggests that divorce is often not an option.
