If you are having a moment of silence you don't have to pray. Its not called a moment of prayer. You can just be silent in respect for what ever the moment is dedicated to.
Both Jehovah's Witnesses and Muslims pray.
The constitution is not based on God. America is not a theocracy. The puritans came here to escape that.
It drives me insane how most of the people in our country do not understand separation of church and state. This is one of those times. The term "separation of church and state" is not in the constitution. The constitution says the government shall not establish a religion and shall not prohibit the right to practice it. Later, Jefferson wrote to a group of baptists who were worried that the government would interfere with their religious practices. Separation of church and state protects the churches to practice what they wibobba never says that there should be no influence of religion in government. Why is the US the only country who worries about this? If you're in muslim country, they will practice Islam in their schools, regardless of the fact that there is a christian present. How is a moment of silence forcing religion on anyone? No one is being forced to pray. You could just respectfully reflect or something. That's definitely not even close to religious. Stop looking for things to be offended over.
i dont agree with religion in school. there are kids of different religions, & that's showing disrespect to them.
Are you against Muslim woman covering their heads and what not? Can you name a religion that doesn't pray in someway?
You dont understand what shes saying.
She is trying to say that there shouldent be a prayer time at all, even if its for all religons, because kids who arent religous shouldent be forced to pray.

If we're basically trying to remove God from the country, we might as well rewrite the constitution considering a lot of the stuff in the constituion is based on God.
wow. no it is not.
the framers created it based on the idea that religion and government should be kept apart.
Umm no are you like in Seventh Grade?
Dude it's in the First Amendment, freedom of speech, religion, etc.
If you trying to say the 2 were made to be kept apart then your also saying that the dollar bill doesn't have, "In God We Trust on It."

What principles at school should announce should be.
"Children during the moment of Silence you have the right to pray."
Look, atheists I know sometimes it's aggravating but America won't wipe your asses and make Atheist Dollar bills with, "In Darwin we Trust" or "One nation under the president."

Epic Win.
Your asses should be lucky your not living in Communist countries stop acting like you have it so bad, because in those countrys your head would be over someone's fireplace, they ask no quarter there.
Your considered an ultimate infidel there, and internet foruming and web sites won't help you at all. Only anger the islam government to the extent.
