giving me little choice/education as to other beliefs I could have taken up. I knew from an early age God nor religion would be something I'd like to follow but there was little I could do at that age.
Telling my parents I didn't believe the thing they'd brought me up to believe was hard and probably disappointing to them but worth it all the same in the end.

I was kind of hurt once when i asked my parents if I was an atheist what would they think of me and they just said they would be disappointed. As for me, just because my family is catholic shouldn't they just respect my decision on being an Atheist? Since we all have different opinions and beliefs. Go go go atheists, more power to us and to this group.

Question... I know why Christians would try to "convert" an atheist (because according to their beliefs the atheist would go to a very bad place.) But, why would an atheist try to convert a Christian?
So please, stop trying to convert Christians IF you do. (Note: Not trying to pressure anything nor am I trying to be judgemental.) And notice the IF in that statement.
