so that more plants can be planted to capture more carbon from the atmosphere. so are you saying that letting plants die in fields without being harvested would solve the world's problems?

i'm saying we could use the land previously used to raise them for crops. AND give the grain saved from feeding them to starving countries. 40% of grain goes to livestock. half of the water used in the US goes to livestock. and we don't even get much energy back from raising them. it's too inefficient. the ratio for raising them is 54:1 for cows, 50:1 for sheep. those are the worst of course. it just doesn't make sense.

Or we could send them livestock and they could raise them themselves

on what land? we're talking desert lands with no where to graze because they've long since overgrazed them themselves. well, at least those are the lands I'M talking about.

Animals kill each other every second of the year. It's what nature is. We're a part of nature, we're animals, and we kill other living things to eat. Yet, as humans, some develop emotional views about animals dying etc. To be blunt, wild animals don't care if they're not eaten by humans, they also don't care how or why they die. Therefore you shouldn't be worried about eating meat.

yet were the only species that tortures the animals before killing and eatting it. stop the torture and i'm sure that this whole matter of animal cruely will almost cease to exsist. it's not all in the meat eatting that's a problem to most, it's that they are tortured long before death.
