Uhm I don't understand how the whole global warming thing is a political whatever thing. I mean, can't you see the obvious signs in front of your face? Guys, this is OUR world. We can do what we want with it and we choose to kill it? Whatever.
But even if it's fake, who does it hurt to reduce, reuse, and recycle?
No one is against reduce, reuse, recycle. Stop using that point.
You do NOT understand. It is more than just that. If people believe that we are causing global warming then they will PAY to fix it. Carbon taxes will be enforced (taxes for using a car, lighting a barbecue, smoking, breathing) and eco-friendly houses will become mandatory, costing roughly $30,000 to each home-owner (maybe more).
The fact that you are clinging to this idea of "taking care of the world" just shows how stubborn you are. The world is fine. If we are not causing global warming then the world is fine. Every time there is an oil spill, the necessary measures to clean it up are taken. Where there is pollution, there are solutions.
NO ONE is encouraging pollution or "killing our world".
But if people believe there is that there IS global warming, that means more walking, riding bicycles, etc. then spending millions of dollars on gas! Also, if you buy a car that takes less gas or something, also, you aren't using what profits our country! [..gas]
So it really doesn't matter. I think we should still try to protect our world longer so maybe our great-great-great-great-great grandchildren will survive.
Just because global warming isn't happening now, doesn't it never will.
You think that loads of factory gas being released into the air we breathe, does absolutely NOTHING?
Yeah let's times all that gas by 200 years and you've got a problem. >.<
Most people cannot get to places with their bicycles; they need cars. Making cities bicycle-friendly would require tearing them down and starting over. For businesses that have bicycling programs they have showers. Those showers take water. Water in many places in the US is trucked down by from Canada. So NOW you have less water, higher prices on water, and those big trucks take a lot of fuel.
There is nothing wrong with electric cars or any of that stuff as long as it works properly (most of them don't). Using a DEATH threat (man-made global warming is a death threat and a guilt trip) is not the right way to get people to be environmentally friendly. You would rather have people lied to, scared, and poor than.. normal (for lack of a better word).
Why would you decrease your standard of living for no reason?
"So it really doesn't matter. I think we should still try to protect our world longer so maybe our great-great-great-great-great grandchildren will survive." They will survive. The world is protected. There is no environmental problem that needs to be fixed. Sorry, there isn't. Stop looking for a problem that needs to be fixed. Every time there is someone one TV with a "problem" that needs to be fixed, it is already being fixed. You are just looking for something to complain about.
"Just because global warming isn't happening now, doesn't it never will." Global warming is happening right now. It is not our fault. If it gets hotter, it still wont be out fault.
"You think that loads of factory gas being released into the air we breathe, does absolutely NOTHING?" I do not support increasing it. I support keeping it at the necessary level to maintain the standard of living.
"Yeah let's times all that gas by 200 years and you've got a problem. >.<" Nope, it disappears after a while, otherwise we would all be toast by now (humans did not event gases). The greenhouse effect does exist, but the recent warming is not caused by it.
