Here is my theory:

She found the vile, and tasted it. She was then put in a trance. She put some of the fluid from the vile onto the donuts and then distributed them so they too would be brain washed. You, being the creator, were unharmed and need to make a cure. Maybe the exact opposite items from the fluid you gave to the Monster Plants could cure the staff.

Shes been possessed.
