1st of all... Dallas isnt in the east. and selanne isnt gonna come back..

DAL - added avery & brunnstrom, lost no one
DET - added hossa, lost no one
EDM - added Visnovsky, brule, only lost torres basically
MTL - added lang, tanguay, lost no one
NJ - added rolston, holik, lost no one
PHX - got jokinen, sauer, & turris will be there, & lost only 2 D
SJS - added 2 great D-men in boyle and blake, lost almost no one
TBL - a TONNE of new players
WSH - basically same team, except theodore instead of kolzig last season (& huet late)

plenty of teams improved...

they don't have the same team. they have a better team with hossa. but still, i'm feeling dallas, and i think philadelphia and montreal will make some noise in the east.

and NJ isn't the only team that got better in the off-season... a bunch of teams did.

ANA, when selanne comes back
ATL - as bad as they still are, they improved
BOS - got ryder to replace murray
BUF - added rivet, lost no one
CHI - added campbell, huet to a young, loaded line-up
CLB, a bunch of new guys, including all-new D

But dude they have teh same team.. NJ is the only team that really got bettr in the offseason

i know they have an incredible team, but the past few stanley cup finalists have been hung-over the next year.

and osgood's stats are boosted because of his incredible defence.

cmon dumbledore are u kidding like rlly.. they have every1 stil there and they managed to sign hossa. The still have there great goaltender Chris Osgood. But i dont see a three peat becuase of there aging team

i'm not sure about detroit.

they look like an incredible team this year, even better than last year. can they be the first to repeat in about a decade? they managed to have lidstrom be the first european captain to win a cup ever, so you never know.

i dunno about tampa making the playoffs. past history has proven that you need a good defence to win championships, and although making the playoffs is not winning a championship, it helps to have a good D.

so yeah... tampa's defence is bad, their goaltending is poor, but their offence is incredible. they signed, like, 8 free agent forwards. ridiculous. do the owners not know you only ice 4 forward lines?
