Earth
The people of the Earth Kingdom are proud and strong and adhere to philosophy of peaceful coexistence with other nations. Earthbenders use their abilities for defense and industry and have fiercely defended their cities against attacks by the Fire Nation.

Air
As might be expected from people who harness the power of air, the Air Nomads were a peaceful society. Honest and forthright, they preferred to use their powers strictly for defensive purposes.

Water
The Water Tribes are a peaceful people. They strive to live in harmony with nature and the other nations of the world. Waterbenders use their abilities for defense, never for aggression. Despite this peaceful nature their current goal is to do whatever it takes to stop the Fire Nation's world conquest.

Fire
The Fire Nation is mysterious and secretive. The leaders of the Fire Nation are driven by a single goal: to destroy all other nations and conquer the world. Not all citizens of the Fire Nation agree with this cause, but they live under the oppressive rule of the Fire Lord.
