HOW TO 'NOSE STALL'
The nose stall is a trick best learnt on
a small ledge or curb.
1. Approach the curb with the edge
directly in front of you as if you were
going to ollie up it.
2. Moving at a comfortable speed
position your feet ready for an ollie,
only this time have your front foot
slightly more forward just behind
the front two bolts.
3. Now ollie slightly earlier than you
would if you were going to land
on top of the ledge, leaning
forward and putting more weight
on your front foot before landing
on the nose. When practicing this
trick, if you land in the middle of
the board, you need to remember
to ollie earlier, and not to skate
too fast to start with.
4. The edge should be locked
between the underside of the nose,
and the wheels of the board.
5. To pop off the edge, then all you
need to do is shift your hips back
towards the back of your board,
take your weight off the nose,
and press down on the tail again.

HOW TO 'NOSE SLIDE'
This trick works on the same principle as
a nose stall except instead of approaching
the object head on, you will be
approaching it with it running parallel
to you (next to you, with your back
facing it).
1. This trick is even easier if you've
perfected a 45 degree ollie by
practising on flat ground.
2. You will need quite a bit of speed
in order to slide. It helps if the curb
or object is slippery. Waxed, or maybe
even a marble-like surface.
3. Skate alongside the edge, but you
don't want to be too close to it, keep
about a boards length away.
4. Approach the ledge at a slight angle,
get ready to ollie, winding your shoulders
in the opposite direction to where the
ledge is, ready for that 45 degree ollie.
5. Ollie onto the edge, but lean over
your front foot, whilst turning to ensure
you're ready to put that nose on the ledge.
6. Once you're grinding, to come out,
lean back on to the tail, shifting your
front foot forward and your back foot
behind you to get you back in to the
original rolling position.

3. Crouch down, then jump up,
pressing down on the tail as hard
as you can on your way up.
4. Slide your front foot across the
top of your board whilst sucking
up your back leg.
5. Then land making sure to bend
your knees on impact.
6. To practice the popping motion,
practice 'skipping' on the back tail,
making sure you hear that popping
sound, getting used to jumping
at the same time.

HOW TO 'OLLIE'
1. To start with, it's easier to stay
standing still on your board, then
when you get more comfortable
you can start rolling slowly.
2. Stand on your board, with your
front foot behind all 4 bolts.
