Dearest Michael,
I am so sorry for everything. Anna started school; I had university and a job. Things got out of control and I had to let go of a lot of things that I loved to make a life for Anna. I wanted to face you and tell you that the pressure was too much for me but it was easier to run away from the confrontation than it was to just face you.

You probably hate me now, and I accept that. I've felt so guilty and I've been on MSN a lot for the past year, but you’re never online. I couldn’t e-mail you, for it seems you’ve done so well in life without me. I’m so proud of all of the things you’ve accomplished! Yet I still can’t face you after my stupidity.

Maybe that’s why I’m posting it here in the last place you’d ever look. Maybe someday you’ll find it and smile and realize I did it for Anna and I won’t feel so guilty. I don’t know why I’m writing this at 3am on a school and work night but I knew it was necessary. I would do anything for Anna, but letting you go was the hardest thing I’ve ever done in my life.
